20 Nov PA MATHS CONFERENCE – Making Connections
We are delighted, once again, to be hosting the annual PA Maths Conference in January 2020. The theme of this year’s conference is Making Connections.
We are thrilled to say we have invited Gareth Metcalfe back as our key note speaker, after his overwhelmingly positive feedback at last year’s conference. Gareth is the author of “I See Reasoning” and “I See Problem Solving”, brilliant resources that have helped teachers, countrywide, to really embed opportunities for reasoning and problem solving within the daily maths lesson. He has also done a piece of work looking at making connections within times tables, really supportive to pupils who are approaching the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) in Year 4.
Other speakers include maths specialists from within our federated schools who will focus on how to deliver maths across the wider primary curriculum, looking at how maths can be seamlessly incorporated into other subjects, as well as opportunities to make really strong links between mathematical topics, seeing maths as one, all encompassing, highly connected subject.
Last year’s conference was hugely successful, with more bookings than ever before, so we would recommend booking early, this year, if you wish to attend.
“Excellent, really enjoyed the key speakers – some great ideas to implement immediately in the classroom” – Nicola, attendee of the PA Maths Conference 2018-19.
