EYFS – Speech and Language: Talking it up in the Early Years
‘Talking it up in the Early Years’ will support early years staff to develop their everyday interactions with all children, in order to maximise language learning opportunities. It is a great place to learn about children’s speech, language and communication development.
The session looks at how you can support the development of these skills on a day-to-day basis in your setting, and how to spot children and young people who might be struggling to develop these important skills.
This session will also include how to use and understand our formative assessment tool and then to use this to set up and effectively run interventions.
We will actively explore practical strategies for helping all children in the classroom build language and social skills, no matter what their learning and communication styles are.
