If you have the necessary entry requirements to apply for one of our Teacher Training vacancies we welcome your application – this will be through the DFE Apply for Teacher Training portal.
To view all our courses in detail please search the DFE ‘Find a Postgraduate Teacher Training‘ website where you will find further information and application links. From October 2021 the DFE replaced UCAS as the way to apply for initial teacher training. All applications for Teacher Training places must be made through: https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-teacher-training.
We will be reviewing applications, interviewing and offering places on a rolling basis from when the window opens in October, and so recommend applying early as our places fill up. We have extremely high expectations and will only appoint candidates who fully meet our criteria. We will continue to interview until we have found the right candidates!
When you begin your application, you will be asked to give details of your qualifications, employment history and personal information. It is very important that you fill in all of your employment history even if it is not education related. You will also need to write a personal statement and provide names and contact details for two referees. It is very important that you choose your referees carefully.
If you have been in higher education in the five years prior to your application, one reference should be academic – for example, from a former lecturer, personal tutor, or guidance counsellor/careers advisor. The second referee should be someone who knows you in a professional capacity, such as an employer. Alternatively, if you have undertaken a recent placement, your second referee could be a teacher from the school where you gained this experience.
Once your application is submitted, we have 40 working days to consider it. If we make you an offer, you will have 10 working days to decide whether to accept the place.
