Primary Advantage schools are fully committed to sustainability and climate action. In line with the Department for Education’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy, each school has appointed a sustainability lead and has developed a Climate Action Plan.
Our schools have partnered with an amazing range of national and local organisations to add expertise and support to help bring this work to life. Each school worked very closely with UCL Climate Ambassadors to develop their own Climate Action Plan (CAP) and our federation was chosen by the DFE and UCL to be filmed as a case study to demonstrate the impact of good quality Climate Action Planning.
Locally we have worked with Hackney Education, collaborating on the development of the Hackney Sustainability Education Framework which was launched in June 2026.
Our schools have embraced the challenge to add more biodiversity to school grounds, provide more outdoor learning opportunities and richer nature connection for our pupils, and to include environmental education through the curriculum.
Thanks to close partnership with a whole host of brilliant organisations such as The Garden Classroom, The Ernest Cook Trust, The Harmony Project, and Hackney’s Climate Education Officer, our children are gaining more skills, knowledge and experiences that enrich their lives, help them foster a love of nature and to grow up inspired to become environmentally aware citizens who can make a difference.
If you would like to partner with us to help us develop more nature related opportunities for our pupils or on any positive climate actions we would love to hear from you. Please contact palearning@primaryadvantage.hackney.sch.uk or 020 7254 1010 (option 5).
