Sam Dorney is an Assistant Headteacher with experience of teaching across both key stage 1 and 2. Currently, she leads on both writing, science and AFL. She is a Hackney Learning Trust key stage 1 moderator. At her current school, she is the NQT mentor and supports school direct students within the classroom. She has also coached RQTs to develop their practise within their chosen leadership field.
As part of the Primary Advantage Federation, she has led on two appreciative enquiries on peer and self-assessment and science. She has worked closely with the Hackney Learning Trust to both plan and deliver a Science conference to support science leaders practise and better embed pedagogy at their own schools across Hackney.
Sam has been involved in creating the Science Fundamentals assessment tool. She has produced child friendly versions of these and embedded them across the school and ensured all staff are clear on the new expectations. At her current school she has worked closely with colleagues to develop the Science curriculum. She has ensured that all staff have received the relevant and tailored training through INSETs and modelled lessons.
